To be able to be active with the Quake 4 community it is suggested that you get an IRC client and connect to one of the Quakenet IRC servers

It is suggested that you auth once connected to Quakenet to get the  full benefits of the network. (This can also mask your host address if that is a wanted feature)

• Colloquy (Mac OSX)

If you don’t want to install additional software to your computer we suggest using:

• Qirc HTTP page (Quakenet)
• Chatzilla (FireFox addon)
• Opera (Has build in IRC client)
• Mibbit
